Project EAT study – The purpose of this study is twofold: to learn more about the eating habits of adolescents, and to see if helping teens feel less stressed decreases their chance of gaining too much weight as they grow. They are recruiting:

  • Boys and girls
  • Ages of 12 and 17
  • Who are at-risk for excessive weight gain based on body weight (BMI 70 – 98%) OR a strong family history of obesity
  • Part One: Teens who are eligible to participate can earn up to $170 for their time
  • Part two: Teens who qualify to participate in Part 2 of the study can earn up to $334 for their time
  • Principal investigator: Lauren Shomaker, Ph.D., through the Adolescent Wellness Laboratory
