Get to Know Dr. Vaughn Hanson
Dr. Vaughn Hanson began his undergraduate education at Pacific Lutheran University and transferred mid way through my sophomore year to University of California, Davis where he finished his undergraduate education. He then attended Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago and completed his residency at the University of California, Davis Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Hanson completed a four-year commitment with the U.S. Air Force at Dyess Airforce Base in Texas before moving to Fort Collins with his family in 1994. He has been with The Youth Clinic ever since. Dr. Hanson is currently the Chief of Pediatrics at Medical Center of the Rockies, and is also Board Certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Within his role at The Youth Clinic, Dr. Hanson considers it a true privilege to work with parents to enhance the health and quality of life of their children. Outside of work, he enjoys time with family as he and his wife are blessed to have their children and four grandchildren living in the area. He enjoys gardening, woodworking, and fishing.
“Dr. Hanson visited our hospital room after my son was born to check up on him a couple of times. He was warm, informative, and very sweet. He answered all of our new parent questions with ease and we felt very comfortable asking him anything. We really loved having such a caring, experienced doctor looking after our baby right after he was born. Thank you, Dr. Hanson!”
