Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a program dedicated to promoting the countless benefits of reading to young children. From infancy, reading to your child can improve their cognitive development, language skills, creativity and imagination, and prepare them for academic success. Simply by reading them a book aloud, you allow your child’s mind to light up in the wonder of possibility for the world around them.

These many benefits of reading to your child are why we at The Youth Clinic have partnered with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Dedicated to fostering a love for reading in children from infancy, the Imagination Library provides free books to children across the world. About the Imagination Library

Dolly Parton founded her incredible Imagination Library in 1995 as a way to spark a love of reading for the children of her community in Tennessee. The Imagination Library has since spread like wildfire and is now active across the United States and Canada, as well as the UK, Ireland, and Australia.

The program is funded by Dolly Parton and local community champions and provides books free of charge to children from infancy through 5 years of age. These books are age specific and are sent each month to children registered in the program. With over 2 million children registered and close to 2 million books gifted, this program has benefited communities across the world.
