What to Know About Newborn Appointments

When welcoming a baby into the world, we want to make it as easy as possible for new parents to see a pediatrician within the first few days of their child’s life.

While it is not possible to make an appointment with our pediatricians until after your baby is born, we want to reassure new parents that we will be able to schedule your newborn’s first appointment within the first 1-2 days of life.

The Youth Clinic doctors will be present at Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH) to check your baby’s vitals, discuss your baby’s health immediately after birth, and to provide you with a brochure with the information needed to schedule your child’s first appointment.

If you are delivering at another hospital, simply call a Newborn Coordinator at (970) 488-2519 to schedule an appointment within the first 1-2 days of your baby’s life. Hospitals other than PVH will have a pediatrician from their own facility to visit with your new family, but you are not limited to who you choose as your child’s pediatrician once you leave the hospital. We welcome families from anywhere in Northern Colorado to become patients of the Youth Clinic, regardless of where they delivered their baby.
