What is food insecurity? It is the inability to access enough food for an active, healthy life. Unfortunately, it’s an issue that affects many families in our state. In fact, 33% of Coloradoans lack reliable access to nutritious foods, and 16% of Colorado children are not getting adequate nutrition due to financial constraints.
These are shocking statistics that highlight the need for action. The good news is that there are resources available to help. At The Youth Clinic, we believe that every child deserves access to healthy food, and we’re here to provide support and guidance to families in need.
If you or someone you know is struggling with food insecurity, we encourage you to ask your provider, click on our Food Insecurity Resource Page or scan the QR code in the document below for a list of community resources. Many organizations in our community are working hard to combat food insecurity and make sure that everyone has enough to eat.
