Get to Know Dr. Barry O’Brien

Dr. Barry O’Brien grew up in Longmont, CO, and left to go to school. He received his undergraduate degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH, his Medical Degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE, and completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX. He was very excited to return to NoCo once he finished with training, and now has lived and worked in Fort Collins for 18 years, the last 13 of which have been at the Youth Clinic.

One of his favorite things about working at The Youth Clinic is getting to know his patients and their families and having the privilege to participate in their growth and development. Kids simply exude joy and they bring an inherent curiosity and desire to participate in their own health.

Outside of work, Dr. O’Brien enjoys anything that involves the outdoors, since we live in such a beautiful part of the country, and his own kids, who will both be in middle school next year. You can find Dr. O’Brien and his family hiking, biking, skiing and camping at any one of their favorite places, like Red Feather Lakes, Steamboat, Cache La Poudre, and Horsetooth Reservoir.
